Chris spent two years bowling at Newton Abbot beginning at the end of 2000, bowling in a small club and a doubles league on Sunday evenings. This was a period of inconsistency for him, and while bowling in Torquay one Sunday with his dad, he was approached by one of the committee of Torbay YBC, offering him a chance to go to the Open Day at the end of that September. When he attended that Open Day, Chris made the decision to leave the Newton Abbot lanes and join Torbay YBC, after being mesmerised by the bowling of veteran Torbay YBC bowlers. Since then, he has seen his average shoot up more in the last year than over the two year period with the folks at Newton Abbot. Consistency is still a problem at times, though.....
